A Royal Commission
In 2018, the British Consulate of Jerusalem approached us to create a bespoke hard enamel badge for HRH Prince William’s official visit to Israel. The design needed to be discreet and worn by the British PPO during the tour.
A Collaborative Design Process
Our Head of Design, Martin Boskett, collaborated closely with the consulate to develop a meaningful and secure design. The final choice featured a garland of Israel’s famous olives and HRH Prince William’s royal cypher in polished 9ct gold and silver plating with hard enamel infilling. The badge was crafted from grade A copper with a hand-polished finish and a secure US-made ‘Ballou’ clutch fixing.
Another Royal Honour
More recently, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) commissioned us to create a brooch for Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal. The design brief was open-ended, allowing our team to explore various options.
After careful consideration, we presented three designs to the CWGC. The chosen brooch was a masterpiece of British craftsmanship, crafted from 925 Sterling Silver with a rich 22ct gilded finish, full relief (3D) detail, and vitreous hard enamel infill. The brooch also featured a safety pin, was hallmarked with ML’s Birmingham Assays backstamp, and was presented in a customized croc finish case with a gold block printed CWG branded logo lid.
